Both certifications were received from Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS), the world's leading inspection, verification and certification company recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity after an extensive audit of the company's quality and environmental systems and processes.
The ISO 9001:2000 standard is an internationally recognized and accepted set of guidelines and requirements used to define the quality management systems of an organization with continual quality improvement as its main tenets.
ISO 14001:2004, on the other hand, details the tangible requirements for an environmental system that addresses the impact a company's activities have on the environment and specifies the steps the company can take to manage the impact and the goals it can develop to continually improve its environmental performance.
Certification to both ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 benchmarks East Coast's performance both in terms of quality and environmental management to international standards, providing accountability not only to our customers but also to our employees in terms of quality service and a safe working environment.
