East Coast is committed to being an environmentally responsible company.

We are committed through continual improvement of environmental management system performance by:

•  Conducting our operations in an environmentally-responsible manner and will comply with     applicable environmental laws and regulations
•  Preventing and minimizing the risk of pollution arising from our operations
•  Conserve natural resources and promote recycling and reuse
•  Promote and foster a culture where it is the responsibility of both employees and management to    work in partnership for the benefit of the environment and the health and safety of all
 

Focus On Quality Customer-Service and Environmental Responsibility

East Coast Freight Forwarders is committed to providing the highest level of quality customer service and at the same time, fulfill its environmental responsibility.

At East Coast, Customer Satisfaction and Continual Improvement is the focus and responsibility of every employee. With this thrust in mind, the company initiated the process for ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management System) in March 2007 and successfully attained certifications to both standards in October and November 2007 respectively.

ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 is the most widely recognized international standard for quality management and environmental management systems respectively. Both certifications were received from Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS), the world's leading inspection, verification and certification company recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity after an extensive audit of the company's quality and environmental systems and processes.

The ISO 9001:2000 standard is an internationally recognized and accepted set of guidelines and requirements used to define the quality management systems of an organization with continual quality improvement as its main tenets.

ISO 14001:2004, on the other hand, details the tangible requirements for an environmental system that addresses the impact a company's activities have on the environment and specifies the steps the company can take to manage the impact and the goals it can develop to continually improve its environmental performance.

Certification to both ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 benchmarks East Coast's performance both in terms of quality and environmental management to international standards, providing accountability not only to our customers but also to our employees in terms of quality service and a safe working environment.

Besides enhancing East Coast's reputation as a leading logistics service-provider with outstanding customer service, the successful integration of the ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management System) is a critical milestone in the company's quest for operational and service excellence. The strong Quality and Environmental Management System aligned with international standard currently emplaced allows us to not only meet but hopefully exceed the quality and safety requirements of our customers with minimal environmental risk whilst ensuring the safety of our employees as well as our customer's assets.
